"Peanuts" by Charles Schultz | Cartoonist's Track
Even though I’ve known of “Peanuts” and “Calvin and Hobbes” for a while now, I’ve never really read them before! So this was a pretty new and fun experience for me. As someone who’s from another country and learned of these comics pretty recently, I now understand all of the love this country has for its lovely peanuts and Calvin characters. I’ve definitely learned to appreciate them more and even now that I challenged myself to do a comic strip inspired by Peanuts this week. This past week, my personal life has been pretty difficult, so in order to take things on a positive perspective, I decided to illustrate my struggles at home as a Peanut’s “oh brother” kind of moment. The Peanuts style is a very iconic and simplistic style so I wanted to tackle it for this 3-4 comic strip challenge. I was mostly inspired visually but I also incorporated the idea that something as bad as a rat infestation could be very anticlimactic in a comic like Peanuts. At the end, I was very pleased with the end result and I’m very excited to try to make even more Cartoonist Track that involve different art styles and comic formats.
Love your artwork
ReplyDeleteGood evolution of idea to your finished comic. Keep it up.
ReplyDeleteI love this comic strip. ^v^) It always gets me on the last panel. The first time I saw this I laughed. Not just because of the ending but also living through the situation with you. This comic strip basically sums it up. Lol I can’t wait to see more of your Cartoonist Tracks.
